Soft Landing Rubber Mulch, or SLRM, is the best safety surfacing option available made from recycled industrial scrap rubber and the buffings of large truck tires and shredded to provide the softest feel possible. Because rubber does not absorb water like organic mulch, it will dry very quickly after a rain and will not freeze in the winter. SLRM will not rot, mildew or mold like wood products and does not decompose making SLRM a cost effective, one time application that will last for years and years. A rubber mulch box is the perfect complement to any play area. You will feel comfortable knowing your kids are as safe as can be on their playset. Why put down rubber mulch if you’re just going to border it in with an unsafe, hard wooden border? Play N’ Learn offers Soft Landing Rubber Timbers, or SLRTs, to easily border in your mulched area. SLRTs are about 6 feet in length and are 4 inches high. The ends of each SLRT are cut to easily interlock seamlessly with the next one. There are holes on each end to connect the timbers together and a hole in the middle to affix each SLRT firmly to the ground with a landscape spike. The holes on each timber are pre-drilled deep enough to ensure that the landscape spikes are safely recessed inside of the timber. The top of each timber is rounded to reduce the risk of injury if fallen on. SLRTs are a very safe and attractive way to border in your playset.
